About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I will turn my adventures on the road into a travel book whimsically titled 'Merlin's Big Adventure' after my dog, who will be accompanying me and hopefully making new doggy friends as well!
ABOUT ME
Hello, I've been living in Harrisburg for the past five or so years, and I'm ready to do some traveling. I recently lost a job, so I thought this would be the perfect time for some road tripping. Why sit at home when I can take that extended vacation I've always needed?I'm a fiction writer, but I hope to write a travel book based on my adventures. I do have a dog that I will be taking with me, though, so I understand if that keeps me off of many couches. He isn't big and sleeps with me on the couch at home, so that's something.I am however willing to give up the couch for a night and sleep on the futon if you don't mind the clutter (I'm a book junkie). I'm a vegetarian, but don't object to other people's dietary choices. You just won't find any meat in my kitchen. I can however tell you all about the local dining choices in Midtown and Downtown Harrisburg. :) And I do make a mean vegetarian lasagna (just give me enough of a warning so I can go buy the ingredients).I like to have a nice relaxing chat, about art, music, philosophy, but I don't want to get into political or religious arguments. I'm looking to keep things light-hearted for the beginning of this year. :)
PHILOSOPHY
I think life is the greatest adventure of all. The world is huge and fascinating, and there is no better purpose than to see as much of it as possible. I believe that most people are nice and decent, not because they have to be but because they just are. I don't believe you need religion to be a good person.I think life is too short to worry too much about what other people think. Also, less is more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just joined but I really am looking forward to traveling. I have limited funds right now so I hope to trade some good conversation for a night off the street!I set my couch to 'maybe' because I don't know when I'll be leaving, but I'm here right now so if you need, ask!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new.
Interests
Like I said, I'm a novelist. I'm currently working on a fantasy novel for young adults. When I'm not writing I like to spend time with my family and friends, play D&D or go to a concert or festival. I'm also a big fan of Renaissance Faires and Faerie Festivals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Lyon, France this past summer. I went to some Roman ruins that have been turned into a stadium. There are passageways and parts of walls still intact. My friends and I started goofing off and I fell off the wall and skinned my leg and hand.It was kind of stupid in retrospect and I could've seriously injured myself, but I didn't, so it was all good. Only after that did we see the sign telling us to stay on the path. Haha.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a bit of a jack of all trades artist. I do a bunch of things passably well. I don't know that I'm much of a 'teacher', but I can offer some good conversation, and maybe something that comes out of my head will give you something to think about. I'm pretty much a free thinker and I ask too many of the big questions.I could teach you to play Dungeons and Dragons! XD
