I'm studying English Literature at St Hilda's College, Oxford university, although I have taken a year off my course to recuperate from the demanding courseload, haha. I've travelled a lot since my childhood, having come from a very diverse background (Chinese + Iranian + American :-) ), and I'm always curious about other cultures.

I love reading, watching movies, and listening to classical music. I also write poetry.

Here's a poem I wrote a while ago, I hope you enjoy it! It's called "Sunrise at Sea":

The morning clouds drift in a purple sweep,
then melt in streaks into the sea-blue sky.
The moody wind breeds honey-bees that fly
in swift swimming swirls. Slender spiders leap
from rock to rock. White waves rise from the deep --
each whispers past the sand, hears a reply
from the wave that it is devoured by --
the constant breathing of the ocean’s sleep.

And all around, a universal glow
welds water, sky, and living things in one:
smooths in the sky a mirror of the sea,
makes the sea like a creature fade and grow,
lifts with gentle fingers insects upon
currents -- and spills a little light on me.
