Prior to moving to Canada, I grew up in one of Nigeria’s most vulnerable cities prone to religious conflict and violence, Kano City. However, the impact of sports paved a way for me; from being a 2005/2006 NBA Africa Basketball Without Border Camp participant in Johannesburg, South Africa to 10 years later, coaching multiple NBA Global Youth Camps in South America, participating in NBA Cares programs; visiting Orphanage homes in Luanda, Angola 2015, including building picnic tables for Elementary School in New Orleans in 2017 and working with the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club until 2018. I live to mentor, guide and impact youth, that is my identity.
