ABOUT ME

Quite honestly, I do not wanna flatter myself by saying so much good things; I prefer my friends to say about me. But I can say I am healthy (mentally, physically, and spiritually), outgoing, humble, confident, frugal, observant, reasonable, responsible, optimistic, philosophical/logical, courteous, organized, hygienic, adventurous, etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, meeting up with CS-buddies, attending cs meetings/get-together parties, helping out Couchurfers, and that sort of thing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I am interested in foreign culture, I would like to host and meet people regardless of race, religion, sex, political belief, status, etc.

Nevertheless, I am currently inclined to reading religious/spiritual books.

I like watching good movies. My favorite films include Jungle, Wild, Into the Wild, Black or White, Irrational Man, and the Founder. Music, as Jimmy Cliff once said, is the food of love. Ethiopian music (Éthiopiques), smooth Jazz, blues, and so forth relax me depending on my mood.

1) For the third time, I participated in baptismal rituals at Bermel Giorgis, Qwara, Gondar, Ethiopia. Most astounding experience of my entire life and indescribable curative effect of the Holy Springs.

May 2023
1) I participated in baptismal rituals at Bermel Giorgis, Qwara, Gondar, Ethiopia. Most astounding experience of my entire life and indescribable curative effect of the Holy Springs.
2) I spent a few days at Wenkshet St Gabriel communal monastery, Gondar, Ethiopia. It was a mind boggling experience of my life.

March 2016
1) Trekked at Semien Mountains National Park. My ass was so freezing that I did not sleep the whole night.
2) Traveled to the cliff-topped Debre Damo Monastery in Eastern Tigray but I did not climb up the cliff because I had cold feet. I have a future plan to return back and do the ascent, God willing.

November 2012
1) Holy Trinity Cathedral, Addis Ababa: spectacular interior, paintings, tainted windows, ... I felt something I have never felt before when I entered inside the chapel.

Unsure about the date
1) Hiked around Lake Hora. This lake is one of the crater lakes in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia. The lake is not yet developed, scrambled and fenced in by investors. So, me and my friend manged to hike all around the lake. It was a bit challenging because there were no tracks as such; we had to make our own way and fight back against the thorny bush, slippery cliffs, narrow ways full of bamboo trees, etc. Everything was in its natural state. The whole hiking took us about 2 hours. The locals did not think we would make it in one piece. They were amazed that we made it back.
