About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To not come up with cliched mission statements

ABOUT ME

I am 35 now, married to a beautiful Turkish woman named Zeynep. I am a master's student at The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (Tufts, Boston, USA). We usually travel together and we are easy going and enjoy the finer things in life, fine friends, fine wine, healthy, gluten-free foods and IR (she works for the UN).

PHILOSOPHY

Live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to go to Wednesday night CS meetings in Kadikoy/Taksim. I highly recommended them! Too be honest I haven't done too much lately

Interests

traveling -- especially now that I am married to Zeynep! / Sports! Running/basketball/baseball/american football, writing (you can google Ezra Mannix for my blog about life in Turkey) /reading non-fiction mostly, geography/maps, camping and hiking, going to the beach and relaxing with a drink, or partying and dancing with a drink! I love history, and other cultures -- with a drink.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots n Lots n Lots. Maybe not as much as you, but some. What can I say, now reading Jonathan Franzen, I like Michael Chabon, Bill Bryson, and ecclectic mix of other unpredictability.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

meeting fascinating travellers on Couchsurfing

Teach, Learn, Share

‎"Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers.... At present you need to live the question..."
--Rainer Maria Rilke

What I Can Share with Hosts

A drink or a meal in Kadikoy, Istanbul...for now anyway!
