About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Enjoying the little things in life ... as well as going on big and small adventures.

ABOUT ME
I studied Supply Chain Management at the Technical University of Dortmund. Besides studying I have had a student job (need to pay the billsssss) in a logistics research institute where I worked in the technology team.
In the summer of 2018 I moved to San Francisco.

In the the last summers I did a lot of volunteering work on festivals which is one of my favorite things in the world. There, I do funny tasks such as being a stage assistant or being an artist shuttle driver. Therefore, I get to see shows for free as well as I even get to meet some of my favorite arists & their crew on a professionel-but-easy basis.
My passion is that I love to travel.... and to go on road trips..... adventures can be found everywhere and don't need to cost the world.

PHILOSOPHY
Sometimes I walk slowly to enjoy and analyse the pleasure of the hour and situation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's great to get to know local, relaxed people when travelling. Especially through couchsurfing I happily realized that there are so many people who share the same sense of curiosity that I do too.

Interests

- going on adventures / traveling
- music... concerts & getting to know new stufff (can be of any genre but I am mainly drawn to electronic music)
- running. I try to do at least one half-marathon per year. I think it's important to stay on track and to have a goal to be working towards.
- I love to ride my bike instead of taking public transport. I love the flexibility and to explore new streets. So if the weather allows it it's my number one means of transportation.
- enjoying a cup of coffee on my balcony and stare at the sky
- nightlife.... I like to go to a goods parties, so I like to go to Cologne or Düsseldorf every once in a while because there are good party locations events going on.
- reading. Nowadays its mainly email newsletters that I read to stay on track with the lastest developments. But - usually when on holiday - I love to indulge in a book again.
- event management is a secret passion of mine. For example, I am known for my awesome theme parties. And a really cool thing was in 2017 when I organized a surprise scavenger hunt for my sister's 30th birthday that included all her friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a big thing for me. I listen to lots of things but mostly and up with electronic-melodic tunes with nice vocals. Such as Groove Armada, Whomadewho, The Rapture, Hot Chip, Odesza, Tame Impala, Gus Gus, Disclosure, .... .
M taste in music can be very well describes with: the MELT! festival line-up.

I love to read interesting stuff to gain insights about certain perspectives of things that are going on in this wonderful world. I have several newsletters in my email and read about all sorts of things (evolution, high-tech, astronomy, history, economy, ...), my fave subscription is the "MIT - The Download" newsletter.

some of my favorite books:
Marie Antoinette - by S. Zweig
Breakfast at Tiffany's - by T. Capote
Der Lateinschueler - by H. Hesse

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I volunteered to help for a simulated Mars mission (www.hi-seas.org). It make me be a tiny part of the research that is being conducted to eventually colonizing Mars one day in the future.
- Meeting some of my favorite bands through my volunteering experices: backstage, driving them as a shuttle driver, ...
- I participated in some sorts of "competitions"/"lottery" to go on a "holiday" for free and won three times already which brought me twice to the US and once to China. :)
- Doing a sky dive... although it was a big awkward to see my sister jumping out of a plane right before my eyes.

Teach, Learn, Share

- I am working in the field of Logistics. If you don't know anything about it I could tell you about it so that you'll be amazed by how wide this field is. ;)
- If you don't know German I am happy to teach you some
- I know a lot about Germany as I have family in all regions and am happy to share what I know about it.
- I can share some stories from my traveling experiences and am also interested in hearing other's people's up's downs from going around the earth.
- I can cook and think it's a great group activity.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be delighted to learn about what you think about your country, your life and your city and am happy to share these thought from my perspective (about my/your country and my/your city).
I like to share drinks and food, especially somewhere outside on a warm summer night.
