About Me
Can't host you right now.
"Anyone hosting a Couchsurfer got an earful of intense and unforgettable stories, which weren’t likely to happen to anyone spending their nights in a comfortable, yet painfully boring hotel room. After all, the goal of a hotel was to make the guest feel at home even abroad; but that was the last thing a real traveler wanted!"
(from my book "Brave Old Europe" - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0822MBDMF)
I love traveling (surprise!), drawing, writing and learning new languages.
I'm rather creative and sociable even though I have a degree in Computer Science. Another great hobby of mine is music, I couldn't live without it! I love playing the guitar (classic and electric), I learned harmonica and one day I will start with piano!
Some wise sentences that inspire me when hosting, being hosted or travelling:
"A foreigner is just a friend you haven't met"
[Unknown]
"Travel is the best education a clever man can find"
[J. W. von Goethe]
"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."
(Oscar Wilde)
"If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there"
[L. Carroll]
"A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it."
[John Steinbeck]
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfers are the last hope to save our planet from wars, ignorance and hate. I try to do my best hosting people when I can, showing the city I'm currently living in to other CS and trying to be a good guest when hosted.
I couchsurfed a bit everywhere in Europe and I had generally great experiences so far! The lowest (yet good for my self-esteem) moment was probably a male host trying to hit on me... So this is probably a good point to mention that, though I have nothing against people using Couchsurfing for dating or (consensual) random sex, I am 100% hetero.
I also hope couchsurfing can help recovering from the negative effects of covid lockdowns. It was hard to see more than a year passing by without traveling much.
Interests
Except the usual and trivial "travels, open-minded people, different cultures", I like everything which involves creativity, science or technique. I also like to talk with interesting people and listen to their opinion or experience in the most diverse topics. As a consequence of that I am not a party guy, but I enjoy much more a relaxed evening, sipping some good wine, maybe playing games or music together.
