About Me
**Always at least up for a drink**
Hey. I am Fabian. I'm working in tax compliance at a consulting company.
Before that I was working in musical theatre (actor, director, editor at a publishing house).
I can be very outgoing on the one side and very serious on the other side. Depends on the people I hang around with. I'm very curious to meet new people and get to know them.
I grew up in eastern frisia near the netherlands border which is very much countryside and very little city. So I'm used to both. Was definitely a great childhood.
Okay...ask me if there is something I haven't told and you wanna know...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfed New York City which was my first CS experience and very nice. Met great people. Then I couchsurfed Australia in 5 weeks and it was even better. Had a great time and made some good friends... Before Corona I enjoyed to host people whenever I could here in Berlin. It's just a great thing to get to know people.
I would like to start doing that again since it is such a great opportunity the meet new people and widen the horizon.
Interests
I would say that I have a relatively broad spectrum of interests. On Youtube for example I love to watch videos about science (Quantum and Astro Physics are my favorite). I am also pretty much interested in politics and society topics.
On the other hand I enjoy leisure times as well. I like to go out and dance and like long walks. I also love movies, series and playing games (videogames and boardgames).
Music, Movies, and Books
When someone asks me what my favorite books, movies, songs are I always answer that one specific thing is above all the others. That's not really my philosophy. I will try to name a few things that I really enjoyed and will enjoy it the future and it hopefully helps you to get to know me a bit better.
Movies:
Star Trek, Parasite, Walking Dead, Lost, Fargo, Naked Gun, Dune, Stranger things, Rupaul's Dragrace
Books:
Gustave Le Bon: Psychology of the crowds, Ray Kurzweil: A fantastic journey, Lord of the rings, Neverending story
Music: Everything that touches me. I like Elektro, Jazz, Pop, Rock. I really like music from the 80s and 90s. Probably because it's my youth.
- Pat Benatar: We Belong
- Mama Cass: Make your own kind of music
- Culture Beat: Mr. Vain
- Die Antwoord: Fatty Boom Boom
- RuPaul: Sissy that walk
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One? Every new Couchsurfer I meet is an amazing thing. Love to meet and get to know new people.
Teach, Learn, Share
As I'm a singer/actor/dancer I could show you stuff like that. And I could help you with computer stuff. We could also just do some music...
My profession in international tax law allows me to tell you something about that as well. But you probably wouldn't want to hear. Haha.
On the other hand...teach me what you want. I'd be happy to (try to) learn it :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
First of all I want to spend time with the people (both as a traveller and a host). I like deep talks, fun times, good food.
Not that much into alcohol anymore.
