About Me

Ancestrally Irish - born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa.

I spent my childhood hiking and being in nature, so this is my happy place. I believe good food takes time and you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat their waiter.

I rock climb, surf (beginner) and hike nearly every Sunday in my home town. I also play uktimate frisbee most Mondays :)

My travel philosophy is about connecting with good people, authentic local culture and trying to avoid tourist traps where possible (but sometimes unavoidable, that's also ok!). And of course local cuisine! Couchsurfing has been an absolute blessing and I'm so grateful to all the good souls I have met thus far.

WORK
After school I started doing laser light shows and 3D projections. I'm trying to to run my little business remotely so I can travel, (not sure how it will turn out but seems to be working ok so far!). I uploaded some pictures of my work.

INFO MAINLY FOR HOSTS
Im vaccinated
I don't smoke but many of my friends do. No judgement.
I'm agnostic but consider myself fairly spiritual and respect other's personal choices (as long as they are personal and do no harm)
I don't drink much but enjoy a beer or glass of wine with dinner (food excites me much more than drinking!)
I support equal rights and personal freedoms

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to broaden my experience of the world and its people (ok this is very generic to say)... but I truly do mean it. I have realised there are so many good, kind people out there who I am just so excited to meet. I have realised it's far too easy to live inside a bubble - and only travel to see the main tourist spots, consume it like a product, then leave. I think the world would be a better place if we could all live in eachother's shoes for a while.

Interests

I love being outside and making the most of what nature has to offer. I'd rather be in nature around a campfire the stars than drinking in a pub (although of course, there's a time and place for everything!)
I started surfing but I'm still learning.
I have been rock climbing for 5 years.
