About Me

Hey Guys,

my name is Fabian , I´m 23 years old and I´m from Stuttgart in Germany. As I succesfully completed my Bachelor degree in Economics this year, I now have a lot of free time to explore the world and travel to different countries within different continents.
I just love getting to know foreigners from all over the world not only by travelling in other countries but also hosting guests travelling throughout my home country in Germany !
I would love to get to know a diversity of foreign people with different cultural and personal background by using couchsurfing as a platform to get in contact with inhabitants from different areas of the world :) It surely enriches your own horizon by getting in touch with perspectives from people with different cultural background !!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To experience as much authenticity when travelling abroad and get in contact with the real life situation from local people ! Moreover its a perfect platform to get in cultural exchange with people all over the world

As a consequence, foreigners are able to get to know the country they are visiting by locals and have a more authentic view on life in general than by staying at hotels :)

Interests

  • i love travelling

Music, Movies, and Books

Philosophical books:

The Art of Loving - Erich Fromm
To have or to be - Erich Fromm
World & Human - Arthur Schopenhauer
An appeal by the Dalai Lama to the World: Ethics are more important than Religion
Defending individualism against standards - Eugen Drewermann

Mindfulness:

The Miracle of Mindfulness - Thich Nhat Hanh
Mindfulness bases stress reduction - Jon Kabat Zinn

Capitalism-Criticism:

How much is enough: Money and the good life - Robert & Edward Skidelsky

list of books which are ready to be read in the future : Psychology of the crowds (Gustave Le Bon), Propaganda (Edward Bernays), Political rhetoric and its power (George Lakoff) and so forth ...

Music:

BIG BIG LOOOOOOVE : TECHNO and especially sets from Deborah de Luca & Mind Against

Just found fucking awesome deephouse sets with african vibes to it from BLACK COFFEE

But also sets from Solomun !!

Apart from that I love listening to old and new school hip hop & RnB as well as Sax-House

Regarding movies I am really an addict ! I love watching movies and here are some of my favourites :
Pulp fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Blow, public enemies, the silence of the lambs etc pp.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting invited by local vietnamese craftsmen to live in their tiny, although heart-warming wood cabin midst half-constructed wood houses nearby Langbiang Mountain in central highland in Vietnam !! Drinking tons of ricewine, starting in the morning and playing karaoke throughout the day !! Fucking awesome inspiration experiencing all their kindness, hospitality and love of life :)

Teach, Learn, Share

People should honestly concentrate much more on their similarities with foreigners than focusing on the differences between people in general ! By approaching foreign people with openness, kindness and a veritable interest in their life habitats you´re always gonna get heart-warming kindness & love back :) :) Really can´t understand xenophobics concentrating on their stereotypes about other people and consequently shaping their behavior correspondingly in order to get confirmation of their biased and prejudice thinking !

I guess one step towards pure and veritable eudemonia is always giving first - without any expectations in mind - rather than focussing on what people can offer you
Moreover, I think empathy towards other people, animals, nature (in short: your whole environment) is one of the key attributes towards a more humanitarian, ecological and moral art of living in general !!

What I Can Share with Hosts

- openness, hospitality, veritable interest in your culture & lots of experiences from travelling abroad as a backpacker :)
