Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a student of life. I love meeting new people, learning and experiencing new things.

ABOUT ME

After graduating, i spent a year working at various companys in the UK, then decided to go travelling for two years. I've finally come back to do my masters in Newcastle. Now I am living and working in London to become an Architect.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm fairly easy going.
I believe that true happiness is only achieved through your own perception on what's around you, if you concentrate on all the bad stuff in the world, in turn it will turn you rotten. I try not to read news papers or the news as they usually just concentrate on the negative like a list of all the bad stuff that's happening in the world.
But really i do understand that there is awful things that go on in the world, but if you want to change from the world, you must change the world around you. Make people happy, and in turn you'll be happy. Even the smallest act of kindness, smiling at a stranger, doing a weird and funky dance, sing out loud, do something for someone that will brighten up there day and it will have a rippling effect. The same if you send negative emotions to other, it ripples.
Be a force of good in the world, it needs it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Heard about CSing when i was travelling, at first was abit scared, seemed dangerous, but after some research, i found cs to be pretty safe, and embraced the culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been to CS meetups in Seoul, Japan, California...always in Irish bars...i dunno why ....

I've csed at a number of places in Korea, Japan and America. I would love to return the favour to the community.

Interessi

I love food! The BEST thing about traveling is experiencing other cultures food! Yum yum yum xD
Balance.
I like going out and drinking, and partying but getting too old to do more than two nights in a row and having to take half the following day to recover.
I like going to museums and art gallery's, massive movie buff, started getting into foreign cinema.

Musica, film e libri

I'm a bit of a nerd, into my computers, probably enjoy watching documentary's too much.
When I get homesick, I tend to watch British comedys, I also enjoy American cartoons, if i were a crap superhero, my superpower would be to quote futurama, family guy, south park references and apply them to normal everyday life....like I said crap superhero.

Im really into audio books. People seem to look down at that form of media compared to traditional reading, but the advantages of not getting travel sickness, neck ache and eye strain wins it for me.
I tend to read/listen to self help genre rather than fiction novel.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

At ankor wat, cambodia my friend and i woke up before dawn to see the sun rise over the famous temple in ankor wat. When we arrived, we found out, just like the rest of the masses which congragated around the temple, it was unfortunely under repair with large scaffolding and green netting surrounding the building. Takes away some of the awe of the site to see it under construction. We decided to check out the rest of the temple from the other sides before the masses could.
A security guard saw we were wondering round and asked us if we wanted to go and see the top.
We climed right to the top of the temple, it was an amazing feeling to be allowed to explore the top by ourselves without being part of the hoards of tourists being pushed along.
The view from the top was amazing and to actually see all the detail of statues so close up....it just made that trip so special.

Insegna, impara, condividi

When i was at uni, I started break dancing. After a year, i was hired by various clubs to perform for them. Started my university break dance society where i taught popping.
After I finished uni, I moved back to my quiet middle-class home town and started lessons there to allow younger people to be exposed to dance.
In Melbourne, I also taught high school students how to make architectural models, how to photograph them and edit them in photo shop.

Whenever I see new travellers, I have a nice collection of great tips for travelling more cost effectively and to get the most of your time.
