Overview
About Me
(2021)
4 years after coming back from Canada to my home town in southern France I'm now well settled locally and contributing to many associative projects such as a community garden, a network of people who barter together, a folk music band, a seed saving association and more...Also that bigger connection to nature made me very spiritual which changes pretty much everything!
(2018)
I lived 5 years in Montréal, Canada which made me a totally new person. I came as an IT engineer and left after reconverting to permaculture and to a simpler, more natural, artistic and self-sufficient life in my home town.
(2014)
I came to Montreal 4 years ago and discovered an awsome city with so many things to offer in terms of Multiculturalism, Healthy living, Culture, all sorts of Festivals, open-minded people, close to nature and much more...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
(2021)
Back on Couchsurfing particularly for a trip in Greece with my girlfriend Méli. I couldn't imagine to travel "as a tourist" anymore but love to help out and share.
(2018)
I'm pretty busy so I have a few expectations for some help (kinda like Woofing), but if you're down to help me out in my permaculture life (natural farming, dumpster-diving, building self-sustainability, music-jams, associative work) I'll be happy to host you! If you stay and help me a lot I try to get enough food (garden and dumpster-diving) for you so it doesn't cost you anything,
(2014)
I want to share, help and communicate more with interesting and authentic people around the world and couchsurfing is one of the best ways to that!
Interests
(2021)
Spirituality, psychology and horizontal management are pretty new :)
(2019)
Being around kids is a new topic of 2019 ans it is a lot of fun aswell as a great challenge! I learn so much from them...
(2018)
I'm actually doing it! Cf: 2016.
(2016)
Permaculture is my new goal to one day create a community in my hometown that would change and help people's minds towards a more meaningful life.
(2014)
I'm an IT engineer but above all a passionate musician (guitar, keyboard, bass, drums) and composer (https://soundcloud.com/fabien-cambi) so I love to jam with other musicians and like to discover new stuff and there's a lot here in Montreal!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music
Pink Floyd is definitely my favorite band ever but I listen to a lot of different styles: The Doors, Led Zep, Hendrix, Clapton, Paco de Lucia, Django Reinhardt, Yann Tiersen, Megadeth, Metallica, Eels, Ray Charles, The blues brothers, Otis Redding, Simon & Garfunkel, Queen, Supertramp, U2, Harmonium, David Bowie, Ratatat, Sublime and many many more...Have some good vinyls at home :)
Movies
I can't stand big budget movies anymore so I'd rather watch a great documentary or a strange indie movie in an independent theater or at home to discover original work than an average hollywood movie with nothing new. I still love to watch the good ones like Wes Anderson, Tarantino, Clint Eastwood, the Cohen brothers, generally what comes out the Cannes Film Festival or such.
Books
(2019)
I read (and watched) a loot of things about collapsology and am currently shifting to more spirituality.
(2018)
I love to read to learn new things. At the moment I read a lot about personal development, psychology, agriculture (especially permaculture and agroecology) and sometimes a little novel.
(2014)
I'm not a bookworm but I like reading. Azimov, Aldous Huxley, Orwell blew my mind, such as some other classics like Céline, Herman Hesse, Camus. I should take more time to read but music is taking most of my free time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
(2019)
I basically started an illegal permaculture neighbourhood garden in Montreal and it's now been secured by the city to be available to the neighbours (https://journalmetro.com/local/villeray-st-michel-parc-extension/2303828/carre-casgrain-un-premier-pas-vers-un-parc/) !
(2018)
I setup a 3h social permaculture workshop in Montreal that I co-presented with a friend. I don't think many people did that the way we did and it had awesome feedbacks! I don't live there anymore so I'm eager to find someone who I could continue to do it with here.
(2015)
Solo trip in Bolivia and Peru, muy lindo! The most amazing is now to come!
Teach, Learn, Share
That is what I naturally do everyday now, sharing, learning, teaching! Everyone should!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I loooove to jam with people. I jammed a lot in Montréal. I have 3 guitars and an amp here. (Later a piano and other instruments probably)
I can share a lot about permaculture and agriculture in general. I'll be happy to make music, make food, have philosophical talks, help out in the garden, help building stuff.. whatever's right for you to feel happy to have me there as long as I also have enough time to discover your country.
