Overview
About Me
Hey my name is Fabien and I’m 30 years old. Originally from France I left my country about 10 years ago and worked as a waiter in England, Australia and New Zealand. In New Zealand I’ve been working as a manager in a fine dining restaurant where I met my girlfriend, Kira. Kira was the Head Chef at the restaurant and the passion for food, wine and hospitality brought us together. After living in New Zealand for more than 2 years we decided it was time to leave to open (one day) our own restaurant back in Switzerland, where Kira is originally from. Hospitality is a tough industry and we needed a break more than ever so we decided to travel in South America before heading back to Europe. We love cooking, eating out and we both share a passion for good wines (I’ve obtained the first level of The Court of Master Sommelier last year). We’re easy going and love to hang out with locals even though our Spanish is pretty basic. We understand quite a lot but it’s still pretty difficult for us to speak (we definitely need more practice). I’m fluent in English and French and Kira is fluent in English, French and Italian.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To have a better insight of other cultures. The hardest part when travelling is get to know locals and this is what we really want. We want to see the cities with a different prospective and get to know people from other countries.

Teach, Learn, Share
As a manager I love to teach hospitality to others, attention to details and make guests feel comfortable and happy is my main priority. I learnt to be humble and that every culture is different, what might feel weird to us can be very normal for others. I share my knowledge with passion.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Believe it or not Kira loves to cook even more outside a professional kitchen so you’ll be probably in for a treat! And I usually take care of the beverages:)
