About Me

Hello, everyone. I am Alvin
HUI from China. I am now studying in Beijing City, China as an English major. And I am going to continue my master study on Journalsim in Hong Kong in September, 2015. I am outgoing, communicative and optimistic. I am fond of travelling, talking with different people and learning more about different cultures. However, I am clean, quiet, careful and will never make any trouble for you. I firmly believe that I wil become good friends with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the summer of 2013, I worked as a teaching assistant in a summer camp named Smena in Anapa, Russia. After the internship, I travelled to Moscow and Saint. Petersburg. It was my hosts found via couchsurfing that provided me with heartfelt treatments, comfortable accommodations and valuable suggestions on travelling. I was grateful for what they did for me during my journey and we became friends during the host. After returning back to China, I started helping several foreign travellers in plenty of aspects, showed them around Beijing and gave them some useful tips. Joining the couchsurfing is exactly the right choice for me, which offers me not only generous help, but also invaluable friendship. I sincerely hope that I can make friends with all my hosts during the journey. And definitely, I will be my hosts' tour guide when they come to China.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2013, I worked as a teaching assistant in a summer camp named Smena in Anapa, Russia for 2 months. I taught my students English and some simple Chinese. I always came up with original ideas and interesting teaching methods to make the class more energetic, fascinating and efficient. And finally, my endeavors brought about my students' happinese and great progress in English. I stil remembered that we, Chinese interns, held a Chinese festival inside the camp, and to our big surprise, the activity left a deep impression for the children and enabld them to have a better understanding of Chinese culture. After the internship, I travelled to Moscow and Saint. Petersburg. I had no travel plan then, just following my heart. The enthusiastic hosts gave me accommodation and travel tips. And local residents showed my around the city. By appreciating the gorgeous scenery and communicating with local people, I gained a profound comprehension of this country. It was a fantastic journey I would never forget throughout my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching - I can teach Chinese, Chinese culture, English and the flute. I can also give you a detailed description of the current situation in China.
Learning - I would like to learn many languages. such as Arabic, French, Russian, Spannish, to name just a few. I am also keenly interested in the cultures, histories, music and arts of different countries and regions. If pemitted, I may have a try on how to cook local food, how to play local sports and make some small souvenirs.
Sharing - I would like to share my previous study and working experience, my own culture and my travel stories. We may share with each other about the domestic and international issues if you are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You know, I am a current university student and am living in a very small dormitory along with other 5 classmates. So there is no space for hosting. However, I would like to show you around my city, take you to wonderful places of interest and special restaunrants, and give you some tips as well. Just feel free to ask me if you need some help in China.
