Overview
About Me
I'm an American lawyer, working as a law professor for about the last decade, and am taking time off to travel and recharge my batteries. In a year between 2016-2017, I visited 14 countries or so, and keep traveling several times per year.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It was recommended by several people I know. It's nice to meet people as I travel, and I'm always interested in comparing notes about places to experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
More arty than commercial films, more literature than pulp, more alternative than pop, more museums than clubs, more history and ruins than nature. But I'm pretty flexible. There's so much to see and do, and I want to experience more more more of it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Gonna go rogue and list two:
Spent one Christmas Eve in the sand dunes of the Sahara under the starriest of skies.
I've played tennis with a former Wimbledon champion who was once ranked #1 in the world. Sure, he was in his 80s, couldn't run, and couldn't hit a backhand anymore due to a shoulder surgery....but I could take him!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
We can talk about government, privacy, searches, surveillance, and national security for hours if you want.
I'm also a dog whisperer, a skill that came through very hard-earned knowledge.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm so curious what other people put here.
My sparkling wit and sophisticated conversation?
