Overview
About Me
Hi everybody! I am Fabio and I live in Milan, though I am originally from a rather small town in central Italy. I've always been attracted to travelling but it wasn't until 2019 that I shaped that interest in a more concrete form. In August of that year I made my first solo travel, in France, and I realized how much I love that kind of experience. What I mostly like about it is the incredible easiness in meeting new people and building good relationships in little time. Also, I enjoy experiencing different cultures and getting to know traditions and costumes of people form around the world. After the travel in France, I've been to Cyprus in a youth exchange and had a wonderful time with people from all around Europe, which helped me to broaden my views and learn amazing things about their countries.
Among other things I like hiking, which I do every once in a while in the Appenines mountains near my hometown, I am a die hard fan of football (I support Juventus and I myself usually play with friends), I enjoy reading and watching good movies. Oh, I also love eating and when it comes to travelling this forces me to try every possible typical dish from the country I am visiting (luckily I don't put on weight easily).
I am an open-minded person and very easy-going, I love to listen to weird stories from eccentric people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After a little experience in travelling I've been coming to the conclusion that what truly makes a travel very special for me are the people that I meet, especially if they're locals from the place I visit. This is because they allow me to authentically live their countries, try their costumes and enter their cultures by experiencing their everyday life and avoiding tourist traps. Couchsurfing represents a powerful tool to reach that goal.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns 'n' Roses, Arctic Monkeys, The Cure, Eminem and many others rock and rap artists. I have been to the Eminem concert in Milan back in 2018 and it was amazing.
Books: I read mostly classic novels, among the current writers I really appreciate Chuck Palahniuk and Haruki Murakami. Two of the books I have liked the most are "Norwegian Wood" by Murakami and "The Broom of the System" by D. F. Wallace.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably it's not incredible at all to many users on here... but for me it was back then because I didn't expect it would have worked. In 2020 I hitchhiked from near my hometown to Bologna: I had never hitchhiked before but Chris McCandless from "Into the Wild" recommended me to give it a try and I followed his advice. I thought people would have been doubtful to let me and my friend jump on their cars (indeed most of them probably were), especially in those times of Covid, but somehow after 1.40 h of thumbs going up and down we managed to make someone let us in their car. It was an awesome experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I guess I can offer free Italian lessons... my hosts will judge whether I am a good teacher or not. Also, I can prepare and teach to prepare italian food, they say I'm getting pretty good as a cook.
