About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cycle from Amsterdam to Rome!

ABOUT ME

My passion in the last few years has been bicycle touring. I go for long bike rides as I think that bicycle is the best way to get to know the world around you.

I often film my journeys with my GoPro. For instance check out a little journey through the blooming flower fields in Holland: https://vimeo.com/92217719

I am the organiser of the Bicycle Touring Amsterdam meetup. Join here: http://www.meetup.com/Bicycle-Touring-Amsterdam/

I am running my own startup, which means little money (so far) but a lot of fun challenges! I am an easy-going and accommodating guy, open to a wide range of conversation topics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has completely revolutionised my travel experience. It has added so much value, it's impossible to describe. When I lived in Chile, I met all my friends through it. In Australia, I found a fabulous second mum!

Interests

Travelling, cycling and learning new stuff, with a wink to the IT world.

Music, Movies, and Books

The music band that has meant to me the most in my life is an Italian band called Litfiba. I even worked with them for 5 years!
My foundation is rock, but lately I'm mellowing down (age?) and so indie group like Franz Ferdinand became my new cup of tea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I happened to be an assistant woodcutter on top of a Volcano in Japan for two days, with superb dinners made by the mom of the guy.
In Guatemala, I attended the most spectacular sunrise of my life, and the most spectacular sunset on the Flores lake.
I met a guy in a hostel in Portland and 1 hour later we were improvising a guitar / trumpet bluesy concert in a park nearby!
I hiked from Kathmandu to the Everest Base Camp!
I cycled from Amsterdam to Paris and would do it again tomorrow :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Bicycle. I want to let you see the unique value of my long-distance touring. That's why I am the organiser of the local Bicycle Touring meetup! (see profile)
