About Me

Hi! Fabio and Aloha here! Thanks for stopping by to read about us.

I'm an English language teacher, a podcaster (look for Stolaroid Stories - that's my podcast), a terrible chess player, a travel addict, a long-time vegan, a storyteller, a non-fiction book reader, a photography lover and an inconsistent gym-goer.

Aloha is an office worker, a pastry chef, a TV series and movie enthusiast, an artist, an amazing cook, a cat lover, a vegetarian, and a Green Day fan.

We are very easy-going, flexible and sociable people who'd like to learn more about you and your culture. We have lots of stories to tell and can't wait to hear yours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love sharing our experience and travel stories. We believe Couchsurfing connects people and cultures in a way no other social media or platform can.

When we travel, we love staying with the locals to experience their true lifestyle as well as having a closer look at different cultures, families and households.

Interests

Fabio
I teach English at the British Council Milan. Teaching English is not only a job for me but also a strong passion. I read a lot about teaching and I'm in the process of getting an MA in Language Education.

I also have a website and podcast where I tell my own true stories inspired by my photos (www.stolaroid.com). I also invite people to tell their stories. I might even invite you on an episode!

I’m generally a curious person so I love documentaries , books and podcasts about factual topics. I hardly ever watch TV.

Aloha
I love drawing, reading mangas and watching Anime because I’m extremely fascinated by Japanese culture. I also love reading novels and watching all sorts of TV series.

Since I was a child I’ve always been interested in arts. I think I’m pretty good at arts and crafts too. Cooking is my number one passion so I like trying out new recipes from different cuisines and experimenting with new and unusual ingredients. I can make pretty good vegan cakes!

Music, Movies, and Books

FABIO
I love music played with musical instruments so I'm not really into electronic or techno. My all-time favourite band is Toto but I like all sort of music, from rock to jazz.

It might sound boring but my favourite book is "Storyworthy" by Matthew Dicks.

If I had to watch one movie for the rest of my life, I would with no doubt watch Braveheart.

ALOHA
Pop, punk and rock. My favourite band is Green Day.

I've read many books in my life and my favourite is still The Little Prince by St. Vincent because I completely share the author's views about life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Asked for a 30-year house loan

Hitchhiked

Started a podcast

Visited Uluru at dawn in the middle of the Australian desert.

Left our country and families for the unknown.

Ridden a scooter in the Indonesian traffic.

Set off for a 4000km trip along the Australian east coast and crashed our van after 1 hour (amazing huh!)

Meditated in a center in South Korea 10 hours a day for 10 days without talking to anyone for the entire time and without any contact with the outside world.

Been evicted from a house in Melbourne on Christmas Day (so good right?)

Jumped onto a small boat from a ferry in the middle of the Pacific Ocean near Fiji.

Picked up a 64-year-old hitchhiker in the Australian desert.

Lived in a caravan for six months.

Taken apart a vineyard by hand under heavy rain in South Australia.

Crossed a flooded street with a motorbike in Bali.

Left for a 5-month trip around South-East Asia by planning the first 2 days only.

Couchsurfing

Visited a remote floating village in Cambodia.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can easily teach you how to cook traditional Italian food as well as vegan/vegetarian recipes. We can teach you English (in case you need it) and basic phrases in Italian.

We would love to learn about you, your traditions and customs and the way people live in your country. We are interested in your local cuisine and language as well.

We can tell you a looooooooooot of interesting personal stories.
