About Me

Currently living in the city (San Jose). Beach trips or other exploratory adventures every week. Starting a tourism road-trip camping company. www.nomadamerica.com
My car is about to break down.
Well I wrote that a while ago. It broke down and was too expensive to fix. I now own a nice bicycle. Im original from Switzerland/Italy but have been in Costa Rica since my early childhood - so im Tico and this is my home.
And now I rebuilt an old school bus and thats my house. its currently doesn't move around often, just parked on a hill with the best view of the valley. Has a kitchen, couch, 2 hammocks and a standard double bed but thats usually mine. For now there is an outdoor bathroom and shower.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Eventually I want to travel to Indonesia, Australia, Northern Europe and around West Africa - hopefully couch surfing in some places. My house has a couch for two people (1 double bed) and 2 hammocks and I live alone and I can't think of a reason not to have strangers cooking me dinner, or at least giving me a cookie.

Music, Movies, and Books

Once I no longer had a house I sold two suitcases full of books on the sidewalk. I forgot what was in there, but im sure it was awesome. Now... i just read whatever anyone gives/lends me. So in my quiver right now:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably something pretty amazing, don't remember.

Teach, Learn, Share

Im down to teach and/or surf with people. Can share my knowledge of Costa Rica - im usually on some sort of trip somewhere trying to explore new places. Costa Rica is tiny but over 15 years of exploring and I still find infinite new places. I also want to learn Portuguese so im willing to share any of my languages for some of that.
I can lend surfboards/bikes and maybe some bananas and empanadas if i really really like you. My two dogs are a little bit anti-social and are scared of strangers because they used to be mistreated, so im trying to change that so you have to be nice to dogs, and no smoking cigarettes near me or my house.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My couch (it turns into a bed, very high tech) and 2 hammocks and i have tents for my backyard if your more than 4 people. Also good wifi.
Trips all over CR. I am self employed and usually can work from the road so im always down for a surf trip or a camping trip. also into multi-day camping hikes and groups are hard to find here.
