About Me

33 years old born in Venice, Italy but living abroad since 2012.

I'm friendly and open, I love to smile and laugh. I'm enthusiastic of life, not into fashion or materialism but connected to simple, natural open-air life. Love to read and write, passionate about bread, pizza, basketball, music, social contacts.

In 2008, I got my diploma as an accountant and worked in the field for three years. The stress of the job and the deep curiosity for the unknown, brought me to give up a safe life in Italy and try new horizons.

I moved to Berlin and became a pizza chef, for more than 8 years now. I worked in Italy again, moved to Denmark and then back to Berlin. After a long time in the German capital, me and my former girlfriend Johanna decided to quit our flat and jobs for a 10-months travel in South America.

We crossed 8 countries and hitch-hiked more than 7.000 kms. We volunteered in 10 different projects and were able to spend less than 4.000 euros in total, flights included.

Back in Europe, I decided to become a baker and after many sacrifices, studies and early mornings, I'm officially acknowledged as a Baker since January 2022.

I`m now traveling through Italy, jumping from bakery to bakery, trying to learn as much as I can about my country, its fantastic gastronomical products and its thin local differences. To become a better baker!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why am I on Couchsurfing?
I think that a travel is made of all the places which you gonna see on your path. But, more important, is made of all the people you gonna meet throughout this journey.
And one of the best way to meet locals and understand fully the real spirit of a place is to be a member of the Couchsurfing community!

Interests

I'm lucky enough to have made my passion become my job.
First as a Pizza maker and now as a Baker, I get up really early in the morning to stay in front of a warm oven to watch the magical process of a loaf becoming a bread.
There is so much to learn and, at the same time, such a possible impact on the life of the people through a bread, that is still fascinates me after 11 years.

I'm really interested in Permaculture, ecological and sustainable ways of living, regenerative agriculture.
It is really important to me to try to protect our world and live more natural, trying not to affect and pollute our planet. Making a step back from business, capitalism and selfishness and trying to regain pure and healthy social contacts.

Then I love to read, writing poems, playing basketball, listening and playing music (deep inside I'm still a drummer and I miss my cajòn). Watch a movie and dream about far away lands and possible future desires.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling for 10 months in South America with less than 2.000 euros.

Recording and publishing my first Album with my band!

Seeing the northern lights on a beach beside a lighthouse in Iceland with my mates.

Walking over a lava field at sunset, twice. In Iceland and Vulcano, Sicily.

Winning the basketball Championship with my local team.

Decide to quit my job and moving abroad, many times already.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge about bread, pizza and baking in general. Talking about the world, our travels and how to try to live our lives in the best way possible. In the most sustainable way!

What I Can Share with Hosts

**** Not hosting right now ****
At the moment I'm living in a shared flat with two other men.
If I host you, we will share my room. Bathroom with shower/bathtub and modern shared kitchen are also available.
Wi-fi and probably everything you need for a few days.

I'm kinda generally busy but I can find some time to show you Berlin a bit around or give you enough tips to do it yourself (I'm living here since 2012).

We could share some of my Italian dishes or invite you at the bakery where I work. If you like to surprise me instead with your cooking skills, even better!

Don't forget to bring beers along and tell me, please, if you snore or not! :))
