About Me

PHILOSOPHY

learning how to live together...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I cannot host, but I hope to whenever I have some stable accommodation...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in Istanbul, an experience that convinced me of the absolute brilliance of the couch surfing project, and showed we there were depths of hospitality I had never know existed... We hosted some couch surfers when lived in an cold creaky pub in London, and all have brought good stories, music and experiences to share.

Music, Movies, and Books

Where to begin?

The last books that did that wonderful thing that great books do and sent a great refreshing breeze through my mind, were Maggie Nelson's "Argonauts" and "Bluets", "G" by John Berger, "Q" by Luther Blisset, "The Third Policeman" by Flan O'Brien, "First Love" by Beckett,

I like social history, Linbaugh and Rediker's 'Many Headed Hydra', Christopher Hill 'The World Turned Upside Down'. Works that reconfigure how we think of the worlds people fitting together in a million different subtle ways...

I have always read lots of science fiction, especially Philip K. Dick and Ursula Le Guin

I listen to music from almost everywhere. I say this, not because I cant be bothered to say what I like, but because it is actually true... I love the old tunes, deep scratchy unpolished gems, weathered hulks, sounds that carry great stories within them somehow survive the tests of time...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I heard people talking together, making sounds that describe the universes with little boxes made of wood and metal and string...

I saw an old man in a pub sing a song so deep people had to hold his hands to stop him getting lost in it...
