About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel to all six continents before I turn 30.

ABOUT ME

Born & bred in Bintulu, Sarawak.

Spent three years in Australia for my tertiary education, and now I'm back in Malaysia, working in KL, the city that to me epitomises the term "concrete jungle".

My job exposes me to the best (and the worst) of both worlds; I spend roughly 50-70 days offshore every year, and work on the remaining days from the Twin Towers. The nature of my job means that I may work anti-social hours sometimes, but this doesn't mean that I don't go out; I still enjoy my time out, just like those heady uni days :)

At home, apart from simply bumming around, I enjoy good books, oriental literature and historical fictions being two of my favourite streams. When it comes to movies, European cinema all the way, and this includes Soviet-era classics; I consider Klimov's "Come and See" as one of the finest films I've ever seen.

I consider talking as a sport, and if my friends are to be trusted, I should be pretty good at it :p

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A couple of friends seem to have had lush times couchsurfing/hosting, so I decided to give it a try.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting:

I used to have my own place in Carlton, Melbourne; a tiny studio, but a perfectly functional one with an extra doona & a nice couch to sleep on. Hosted a number of people, many of them (but not limited to) Malaysian students from all over Australia/NZ, from 2009-2012. The idea of hosting people over isn't alien to me, but doing it under the CS banner is something I'm not used to, but would like to explore in the future!

Couchsurfing:

Hosted by the legendary Oak in Bangkok, 2013. Awesome experience.
