About Me

CURRENT MISSION

As i am an art historian i want to explore the world, the landscapes and the cities. Not only to get to know the people and culture, but also to see what there is to be seen, and to discover what remains to be disovered!

ABOUT ME

As a baby i was called "Vaalele", which apparently is antipodian for aeroplane. Going from PNG to NZ to Germany to the UK, i spent a huge time of my early years in the aeroplane - so there you are! I am born to be a traveller!

PHILOSOPHY

Sapere aude!
Horatius and Immanuel Kant

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One very amazing and very ktitschy moment that occurred to me in Florence - one of my favourite cities by the way - when i just bought me some incredible gelato and walked up to the Loggia dei Lanzi - the moon just rose above the city - and a guy played sond of silence on his guitar whilst a bunch of people were dancing and singing.

or another striking experience in Venice, when i realized there is a time of the year when it's not too full and too crowded and too touristy

Teach, Learn, Share

My favourite topics - at last those I'm knowledgable in - are art, music and history. As for art, history or art history, you can pretty much talk with me about everything.
As for music, i used to have a jazz band, and played the piano, but since those times, i always tried to broaden my musical horizon. So be it 16th century italian music like Giovanni Gabrieli, or contemporary American indie-pop like Foster the People.
