Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to expand our peace education outside the classroom.
ABOUT ME
We've been together for 9 years and in that time have lived in Central California (school), small-town Indiana (more school), and Washington, DC (adventure!). We moved to Oakland in September, 2011 and are excited to be back on the West Coast. After spending a few magical years living in co-ops, we're now enjoying being a community of two (+ cats). However, we're still very community-minded and love practicing hospitality.Christine works for a Latin American solidarity organization and is on
the Board of Directors for the Women's Ordination Conference. She's
currently persuing an Masters in Divinity and Certificate in Women's
Studies and Religion at Pacific School of Religion. Christine's
Catholic, Alex is Unitarian Universalist and we're both a little Quaker,
so spirituality is a big part of our lives, but in a liberational/not
mean way.Alex is a paralegal and in his spare time volunteers as a math tutor and sexual health educator. He's also a Cicerone-Certified Beer Server (which is sort of like a beer sommelier).Beer and food are big passions for us. We love working in our community garden, going to the farmer's market, and trying out new recipes at home. We also love craft brews, homebrewing and experimenting with new cocktails. Needless to say, if you stay with us, you'll be well fed.
PHILOSOPHY
Live simply so that others may simply live.
(Ok, so we stole it from the Quakers, but it's still a good philosophy.)
