About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy Summer in the south of France before heading back to Taiwan

ABOUT ME

I'm an all too normal French guy that left home a bit early and found out life was too incredible to stop and head back. I've lived in a lot of different places (about 13 cities, and 5 countries in 12 years) with the only idea to always find something or someone to make it all worth it. Turns out it isn't really difficult when you look with a kind eye and enough passion.

I spend a lot of time scuttling the nice classical education my parents gave me, and coming up with bizarre facial hair styles to enrage my grandma. My "Mexican porn-star" moustache was a big hit on Taiwan TV's last fall (check the photos).
I make it into a point to get lost in a new city, and find a bunch of strangers to go party with. Yesterday a group of Mauritanians made my night.

Being young at heart is important to me, even if it appears childish. Ullman said it nicely "In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young. When the aerials are down and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you're grown old, even at twenty".

I've met my first Taiwanese friend 11 years ago in the US, and I been infatuated with the country and the culture ever since. I regularly trek across the east coast on my bicycle, organise hikes and rides for strangers around Taipei, and am a member of a Taoist troupe during the birthday of 媽

PHILOSOPHY

I hate the most cynicism and contempt. But i tend to push myself hard in trying to achieve and do more. The past 12 years I have spent travelling and living abroad have shown me we have so little time and so much to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Originally I met a lot of CSers in Taipei through the sport events I organise. On my own I have already put together over 60 events. We go hiking, riding, paragliding, snorkelling... Anyone can join. We also collect information and make it available to everyone. You can find us on Facebook by looking for "hiking and riding in Taipei"
Since that I've started hosting and meeting people through CS, in France.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted once, and met once. So far, so good :)

Pitched in front of VPs, CEOs, and Obama's secretary of energy. Travelled across Romania with my friend at age 13. Raced up the then tallest building in the world. Pedalled/Biked/Drove down the TW central pass...
