About Me
Hi My name is YiWen (pronouciated like "even")~
I am a Chinese girl who is now a PhD student in Netherlands, majoring in medical science.
being a kind, outgoing girl, I love cooking and trying everything new(except things illegal...). In my point of view, the meaning of life is experiencing. life is short, world is big, if you never start the step to try, you will never know what you really want.
I enjoy eating food, whatever the types, western or eastern, spicy or salty, i love trying and exploring. Food is something mixing with culture, i always believe the food is the most important part of the culture, and also stand the characteristic of the people living. As in northern China, people like to eat hot and salty food because of the cold weather, meanwhile people in south of China, people like more sweet and fresh food.
I am also fond of cooking, also i am kind of good at cooking. no matter the dishes in Chinese style, or baking a cake/bread/cookies, I can always make a nice one(hhhh maybe it is just nice to me). so if there is a chance, welcome to my city, and we can share a meal in Chinese style? ~
Another important thing in my life is traveling. i have been travelled almost all the provinces of China, and i really love the feeling when exploring the new thing. opening my eye and broadening my mind, reminding of me there is always so much fun here in the world, traveling and exploring keep me energetic and curious about life.
Nowadays i am a PhD student in Netherlands, majoring in critical medicine. Research is meaningful and interesting to me. Lives are fantastic. I might continue my career as a doctor after finishing the study, maybe not. But being a person useful and helpful is something i always seek for.
it is me, a food-lover, a good cook, also a future doctor. i want to be a friend of you, to know who you are, what you are looking for~~
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
first of all, as a student, i don't have much income, and i want to travel to different cities and countries with my limited budget, so i try "Couchsurfing".
Secondly, i want to communicate with different people and understand different life style and culture deeper. without many chances during my working time, i think traveling through "Couchsurfing " to meet people is also a interesting thing and a good chance to do so.
Last but not the least, i want to know more about the local life within a short time. Directly living with local people is a best way to get here. Also if there is a chance, i'd like to show you how Chinese people living and share with your our life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
10 years before, as a 18 years old girl, i decided to study in Harbin, China, 2000 kilometers away from my hometown, alone. Nobody supported my decision at that moment but i made up my mind. During the years living and studying in Harbin, i found the life and people here are totally different from Southern China, which just makes me be curious about life in other places in China. Since then, i begin to travel through China myself. and now, i have broden my way to Europe.
I still feel much thanks for my patient who supported at last, and much thanks to the people who are kindly to me on my way traveling. Because of them, i know the beauty of world, and i begin to know the beauty of life.
