About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Different air and different streets.

ABOUT ME

I write stories with no plot.

Some may call me brutally honest or overbearingly sarcastic. And I am both of those things.

PHILOSOPHY

Wait and see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Played harmonica and sang bad Bob Dylan covers in Brooklyn (a couch surfing staple.)

Met a surfer in a New Mexican restaurant with a two-man accordion and tambourine band.

It's always something different, and always a good time.

I've mostly been staying with friends and friends of friends, but have stayed with some strangers too, who stop seeming like strangers quick.

Interests

Writing, reading, playing and listening to music, film making, road tripping, taking naps, eating sushi, drinking coffee, watching trains go by, walking in the rain, remembering dreams, sunflowers, good tequila, quiet...

Andrew Bird, Gillian Welch, Dark Dark Dark, Bob Dylan, The Pixies, Cat Power, The Tallest Man on Earth, Regina Spektor, Radiohead, Joanna Newsom, Joy Division, Metric, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Neko Case, PJ Harvey...

J.D. Salinger, Kurt Vonnegut, Annie Dillard, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Lorrie Moore, Jean-Paul Sartre, John Steinbeck, Amy Hemple, Charles Baxter...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving through the Mojave in the middle of the night feels like driving through space.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a microKorg, a guitar, a cello, a clarinet, and a lack of people to jam with.

I think a lot about the impending collapse of society (just kidding...sorta...haha...ha...) and wish that I had more tangible skills. Things I could do with my hands other than playing music. I want to know how to build things, how to work on machines, how to kill and eat things, how to grow things. Really, I want to know how to do everthing there is to do. I am sponge-like for desires and am happy to learn pretty much anything that comes along.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Mexico, Poland, Rwanda

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, United States
