Majored in Chinese Literature in Tunghai University, learned Tang, Song, Yuan poem writing. Acquired master degree in Department of Ethnomusicology, Nanhua University, majored in the study of Guqin. The title of the master thesis is Chinese Imperial Court Guqin Study. In leisure times, I like to sing, dance, do Tai-Chi and practice Chinese calligraphy. I have held my personal calligraphy exhibition, published calligraphy work collection, and interacted with calligraphers from China, Japan and Korea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting friends from all around the world. After retirement, I like to travel with friends, as well as welcome foreign travelers to visit Changhua. I would like to provide these travelers accommodation and to show you around Changhua and exchange our cultures.

Collect music and books regarding Guqin. Big fan of the 70s and 80s Western music and movies, like Andy Williams, Tom Jones, Pedi Page, Simon and Garfunkel, The Carpenters, etc; Ben-Hur, Gone With The Wind, Roman Holiday, War And Peace, My Fair Lady, Sound of Music, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The other day, I saw a couple pushing a broke-down scooter on the side of the rode in the middle of a hot day, trying to find a repair shop. However, most scooter repair shops don't open on Sundays. I offered my services and suggested them to rest under the shades while I found a shop that opened. After looking for a long time, I finally found a shop that opened. I went back to that couple and told them where it was. Although the shop was quite far away, at least it was a solution to their problem, so they could go on with their day. They kept saying thank you, and I felt very happy to be of help. Happiness lies in helping others.

Other than a Chinese Literature and history teacher, I have also been a dance teacher, Tai Chi teacher, Chinese calligraphy teacher, Guqin teacher, C-class Chinese cuisine teacher. Would like to learn English conversation. I can share my knowledge and skills in the mentioned areas.
