Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to give people moving to a scarily big new city (London) a place to stay for a day or 2 to find their feet - similarly people visiting for a few days to show them the best of the city i live in & love:_)
i am keen on an interactive experience so haven't really joined up to have my home used as a hotel for a week or so - sorry!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Whilst travelling @ the start of this year ('08), i was lucky enough to have alot of contacts/friends in the places i visited. Despite, on occasion, staying in hotels & also being in a position where my budget allowed for this, how much better was it to stay with locals??? Unbelievably so...........
It makes all the difference to your experience and also allows you to benefit from their knowledge of their home town
Not done any couchsurfing per se - all those on my trip had some link (although sometimes v tenuous), even staying with an ozzie i met 13 years ago in Thailand (who now i would class as a really great friend for life)
