About Me

My name is Fanny, I works as a waitress and I studied Geography. In general I love to discover place, people and their life style. I love to learn everyday about other countries and culture.

ABOUT ME
I'm dynamic and spontanious. I love music, especially in festival. I like to go to jam session even if I don't play instrument. I think it is because Jam session creates such nice environment and you can always meet great people.
In everyday life I spend a lot of time to work as waitress. In my free time I love to meet friends. But when I'm in holiday or on travel I like to walk and discover places. I am not afraid to talk to people and meet some new faces. In my uni (where I did my degree) I was in group of student that organize some events and jam all related with culture. We promoted the "live together" and the underground culture; street art, street performance, music

PHILOSOPHY
Don't Worry, Be Happy/ No Problem bro'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I did lot of couch surfing in New Zealand where I spent one year. I learned English over there so don't pay much attention to my writing and spelling. I meet a lot of people from everywhere and I discover so many things.

When I was younger I did the scout (young movement). During summer camp and hike we had to find place to stay overnight. We went to small village in Belgium and couched surf to amazing farmers and people. Sometime just on barn or in a garage but sometime amazing people let you take a shower or offer you what they have.

So I am on couchsurfing to get the local point of view about place but also to share experiences and make great meeting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like biography even it is difficult to read because every single sentence there is a famous name that you never heard and you google it. I read Manu Chao, Jimi Hendrix (his grand mother was name Fanny BTW) and Bob Marley. I like live music and improvisation theater.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best travel I made was in 2007 when I was volonteer with my scout association in a small village in Maroco. We learned a lot and helped the villager to work in the field, make food and organized games for children during their holidays.

For 4 years, my boyfriend (Mathieu on my profile picture) and I are travelling each summer in europe to discover place and to learn about culture. Our first year we went to Spain by hitchhikking from Belgium.
During the summer 2015 Mathieu and I travel during one month in East Europe: Our goal was to camp and to hitchhike a lot in order to spend less than 1000 euro. We went to Praha, Wien, Bratislava, Budapest, Ozora (11 days of festival in Hungary) Balaton lake (in Hungary) and Ljubjana. We meet a lot of amazing people during this travel like Marton and Mathias that host us and show us around in Wien.
In 2016, we went to a festival in France Totemistick then we went camping with friends in the south of France and then hitchhinking again. We crossed the noth of Italy and went on the coast of Croatia after we went to Bosnia and Montenegro then back to Belgium.

Each of our trip took 1 month approximatively where we met so many people by hitchhiking or couchsurfing or asking to camp in gardens. I love this way of travelling because we met people we would never met otherwise. We have so many stories to tell. People are so awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to share my experience, my cooking abilities (or the one of Mathieu).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mathieu and I love to cook for our host. We think it is the least we can do to thank them for their hospitality. We are flexitarian (we eat less meat and fish) but we love everything.
