About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living out of the van for the summer

ABOUT ME

Currently figuring out how to grow while retaining my youthful ideals and aspirations of living in balance with the environment and its beautiful creatures. Laughing, dancing, singing, cycling, oceans, mountains, rivers, and life in general.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to do what I can with my limited time, and my idea for doing it was to pursue civil engineering. I believe (I hope) that with a civil engineering degree I will have the opportunity work in a number of different scenarios. My eventual goal is to be a sustainable designer, because my heart is in permaculture. I would like to work with water, ideally passive rain water harvesting. Most importantly, I want to live simply and in harmony with this sweet world I was placed on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer my home to members of this site and I take advantage of the same opportunity when I'm travelling. CS offers the opportunity build memories with folks I would have never met otherwise. I give it a whoop. And a second whoop. I give it a whoop whoop.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have met many wonderful people already (shout to San Francisco), and I've recently started hosting at my own place.

Interests

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music but names are hard for me to remember. If I tell you I like Outkast, Wolgang Amadeus Phoenix, Radiohead, Fela Kuti, and Many Chau does that help? Some of my recent favorite books are freakonomics, Many Lives Many Masters, and Another Roadside Attraction. My new favorite T.V. show is Breaking Bad, loved the Good, the Bad and the Weird, a spaghetti western korean flic, with kill bill-esque action, cowboy chique nostalgia, all underlaid by the cultural magnificence of the Orient.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met my mother for the first time again. Although she co-raised me, I did not appreciate her for a very long time. Nevertheless, she has loved me and stuck by me my whole life. A couple of summers ago, when I met my mother again, I learned to see her in a whole new way. I understood her life from a human perspective not as child, but as just another person. From this realization I came to understand there is no forgiveness owed on either party...What happened in my childhood was just life happening. My mother was and still is living hers, and I can now appreciate that each person, parent alike, all have a right to following their paths.
