About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The spring has come and I am, once more, a free man!

ABOUT ME

I am an ambitious adventure and a huge fan of classic books and literature but I also enjoy sports such as surfing, snowboarding, and practicing martial arts. I have a passion for good times and eating-perhaps it comes with the territory as I am a seasoned cook and traveller-
My favorite part about traveling is meeting new people and especially learning and sharing cultures and perspectives.

PHILOSOPHY

Trust yourself and trust in people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I lived in a fraternity house in Manoa Valley with several roommates, close to the university of Hawaii. I hosted a few travellers from here and there. I became bored of the island so I moved away. I finished school in Virginia, and there I had an opportunity to host some fantastic surfers.
Now, I am as a nomad. I cannot, technically, host you as I dont have a couch but feel free to get into contact with me wherever I am- or join me on my current mission on the road!
Hope to see you out there!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfed my way around western Europe from March 14th to May 18 around 2008. Stayed at a few places in France and a few couches in Spain. Unofficially surfed around Ireland and England as well. Recently in 2013 I have couchsurfed all across Israel, over the North stretch of Italy by Bolzano and Verona, and also in Tyrol of Austria and the German Bavaria. What an incredible experience! Making fast friends, making great connections, having the time of your life is easy and a blast.

Interests

Reading, writting prose and verse, surfing, eating, making music on my guitar/banjo/harmonica, helping out when I can, extreme sports, courting the lasses, reading(I have to say it twice!), martial arts, hiking, finding balance and inspiration in nature, beer, wine, alcohol, punk music, classical music- everything!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The whole d'Artagnan Romance series by our convivial friend, Alexandre Dumas, All of Oscar Wilde's plays, Eugen O'Neil's dramas, Kurt Vonneguts apocalyptic writtings and Mark Twain's old country humor.
I'm also happy to say that I have seen a bar in Ireland where James Joyce used to put pen to paper and drink a few pints. (Though, truth be told my favorite work of his is the collection of stories from, "The Dubliners".

Music: Irish and American Folk music such as the Clancy Brothers and Pete Seeger, Alternative American Country from the likes of Hank III, Uncle Tupelo, Lucero, Old Western music like Marty Robbins, 50's greaser pop such as Gene Vincent and Wanda Jackson even still some classic romance from Schuhbert is excellent for repose.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I will be spending the entirety of 2013 on the road-soaking up adventures and camping out under the stars.
Swimming and running naked in Iceland.
I visited Nairobi, Kenya to help volunteer at an orphanage in the Kibera slum district in the fall of 2007 with my sister. There, I Taught some English and helped build a classroom. The children were all very special-education has improved their lives dramatically.
I travelled up to Montreal for awhile and met some really cool punk kids. They taught me the proper way to make a brass monkey ( labadt blue 40oz and some orange juice) and showed me great local fare. Putine is damn good.
I surfed the north shore of hawaii which was preeeeeetty epic!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have an apt hand in the kitchen and would love to share some cooking tips and recipes. I'm decently fluent in the Spanish language and am in the beginning stages of learning German. I have also studied Automotive mechanics in school and could help with light repairs or give advice.
