About Me

I'm living in Stratfor-upon-Avon for a year+, working as the Web Designer for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At the moment, just to meet and hang out with people passing through the area.

Interests

Yegads! This is a tough one.
I would say music is a priority, tho I don´t play any instrument (unless banging on a surface with feet or hands counts).
Food, art, chat, looking at beautiful things are all in there too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite book is The Third Policeman by Flann O´Brien. I love sci-fi, A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge being my current favourite. Also love history/science books, and can wholeheartedly recommend both 1491 and 1493 by Charles C. Mann - two of the most amazing books I've ever read. I have a pretty broad taste in music and used to DJ for many years in Manchester and Dublin (still do from time to time). I love discovering new music, especially stuff people show me that I probably would never have heard otherwise. With movies, I love a good horror or sci-fi. The last movie I can remember being totally amazed by was Ran by Akira Kurosawa. That is some serious business right there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first that comes to mind is taking a break from a seriously cramped taxi drive in Kyrgyzstan to sit with a family outside their yurt, eating fresh baked bread and shashlyk, washed down with tea and kumys, surrounded by absolutely glorious mountains. Magic.

Teach, Learn, Share

Should you need some help setting up a website, or any other advice about the online world I can help you out with that.

At the moment I´m looking to improve my seriously meagre Spanish, learn as much local music as possible, maybe with a few dance moves thrown in.
