About Me

Hello! I'm Faraz Farrukh, an entrepreneur based in Bangalore, originally hailing from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. I come from a large and close-knit family, with roots spread across India and beyond. My father is a retired IES officer, and my mother is the heart of our home. I have two brothers involved in the family business and a sister currently pursuing her masters in Geneva.

I run a few businesses in the UAE, including ventures in real estate, FMCG retail, and e-commerce. Despite my busy schedule, I make sure to take time for my passions—traveling, cooking, and working out. I love exploring new places, trying out local cuisines, and meeting new people from all walks of life.

I’m a strong believer in personal growth, which has led me to start a series of online sessions focused on dating, personality development, and confidence building, especially for men. I also share tips on communication skills and personal development through my Instagram account.

As a host, I’m excited to share my culture, stories, and a good meal with fellow travelers. My cooking skills are something I’m particularly proud of, and I’m always happy to whip up a dish or two from my favorite recipes.

Looking forward to meeting like-minded travelers and making new friends from around the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that travel is about more than just seeing new places; it’s about connecting with people and cultures on a deeper level. I want to experience the world through the eyes of the locals, share stories, and make lifelong friends along the way.

As someone who enjoys traveling, cooking, and working out, I find joy in sharing these passions with others. Whether it’s preparing a meal together, going for a workout, or simply having a conversation about life and experiences, I cherish the opportunity to learn from others and offer what I can in return.

Couchsurfing is an incredible platform that brings together like-minded people who value the human connection over material comforts. It’s a way for me to step out of my comfort zone, embrace new adventures, and contribute to a global community that celebrates diversity, kindness, and mutual respect.

So, whether you’re looking for a place to stay, a workout buddy, or just someone to explore the city with, I’m here to help make your travel experience a memorable one. Let’s share some great moments together and make the world feel a little smaller and friendlier, one couch at a time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music:
I enjoy a mix of genres, but some of my favorites include classic rock, indie pop, and a bit of jazz. Artists like The Beatles, Coldplay, and Miles Davis are always on my playlist.

Favorite Movies:
I'm a fan of movies that offer a mix of thought-provoking stories and great performances. Some of my top picks include The Shawshank Redemption, Inception, and The Godfather. I also enjoy a good comedy or action movie when I’m in the mood for something lighter.

Favorite Books:
I love reading both fiction and non-fiction. Some of my favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I’m always up for discussing a good book over a cup of coffee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most exhilarating moments of my life happened while I was exploring the deserts of Egypt. After spending the day marveling at the pyramids of Giza, I decided to take an impromptu adventure—a night-time camel trek through the Sahara. Under a sky brimming with stars, I rode with a small group of locals who shared stories passed down through generations. As we ventured deeper into the desert, the sounds of the modern world faded away, leaving only the whispers of the wind and the soft padding of the camels' feet on the sand. We set up camp around a fire, where I learned to make traditional Bedouin tea and tried my hand at cooking in the desert. But the highlight was climbing a sand dune to watch the sunrise over the pyramids—an awe-inspiring sight that felt almost surreal, as if time had stood still. That night, I didn’t just witness history; I became a part of it, and it’s an adventure I’ll carry with me forever.
