About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be the change we wish to see in the world! (Or wait, was that Gandhi?)
ABOUT ME
What you must know about me first and foremost is that I just love the color--purple! Tis the color of royalty and many of the most beautiful things of the world!
Well seriously, I do love purple, but I am also a trained dancer of ballet, modern and lyrical dance. I love to sing and act and perform. I am a writer--I hope to write books one day, of my travel experiences. I can sew, type really fast, do a semi-awesome cartwheel and give really big and awesome hugs.
I really like people--well only if they are fabulous. I like making friends all the time. I like making friends with cats especially (NO dogs please) and anyone who knows of or watches Sex and the City is most definitely in my amazing category.
I am the middle child of two brothers. One is a neuro-scientist, the other a fresh university student in upstate New York. I have 8 cats, but only 2 live with me now. They are pedigree-Siamese and Burmese mix, makes Tonquenese. I used to have a pet rat named Bella--she was amazing and really smart! I am not fond of dogs, except for little ones and Boxers and baby Rotwhilers (sp?) and Porto!
I know this all sounds silly, but seriously, I'd consider myself an eclectic and well-rounded individual with a big heart and great sense of humor. I take care of people's feelings and feed off of good energy.
PHILOSOPHY
I live for the goal of understanding and ultimate enlightenment. In Buddhist belief, life is a trap that can only be unwound with the seeking out of final enlightenment. Whereas I do not believe life is a trap, I do believe there are always ways we should be changing and learning and seeking a personal enlightenment. It is important to recognize our strengths, weaknesses, energies, ways of understanding and ways of misunderstanding. Only after we love and feel ourselves, can we love and feel others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I believe I have a way of making people feel welcome in new surroundings. I want to bridge the gap between global differences and create smiles where fists have been planted.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I just started couchsurfing when abroad for a six-week backpacking adventure with my two girlfriends. We couchsurfed nearly the whole time in Europe and it was fabulous the whole way through. I appreciate people who open up their homes to complete strangers, but feel comfortable immediately. It is a beautiful thing really-- but I'm pretty sure all couchsurfers were friends or lovers in past lives...yeah???

Music: I like everything, just no country or hardcore please!
Favorite Books: The Awakening, anything by Roald Dahl or Bill Clinton
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rappelled off of a 300 foot cliff in the Blue Mountains of Australia. It was a free fall for 150 feet where my rope spun me in slow 360s revealing how small I was against a massive mother earth phenomenon. Highly recommended!
Teach, Learn, Share
Did you know that the words for God in the Torah, the Hebrew Bible, mean "he who has no name." Adonai, Hashem, Yahweh, Shadai, etc.--they are all names for something that we cannot explain in Judaism. That is God--what we do not know and that we thank for giving us the gift to love and to feel and live each day!
