About Me
Hi! I’m Farhan from Malaysia. I’m deaf and communicate using Malaysian Sign Language, which is my primary language. I love meeting new people and sharing experiences, so Couchsurfing is a perfect way for me to connect with travelers around the world.
I’m passionate about coding and technology, and I enjoy exploring new places whenever I can. Whether it’s hiking, trying local food, or just wandering through a city, I love immersing myself in different cultures.
I’m excited to share my home with fellow travelers and learn about your adventures as well!
Looking forward to connecting!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I love connecting with people from different backgrounds. In 2008, I was an exchange student with AFS, living in the U.S. for a year in Indiana, where I attended the Indiana School for the Deaf. That experience opened my eyes to new cultures and friendships, and now I want to continue that journey by meeting travelers from around the world.
Couchsurfing allows me to share my own culture while learning about others in a personal way. I’m excited to host and be hosted, creating memorable experiences along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love listening to music, especially the rhythm and beats, even though I don’t focus on the lyrics. The energy of the music really moves me and adds to my experiences, whether I’m coding or relaxing.
Movies: I’m a big fan of movies, especially on Netflix! I enjoy a wide range of genres, from action and adventure to comedies and documentaries. I love how films can transport you to different worlds and tell powerful stories.
Books: I don’t read many books, but if a story really captures my interest, I’ll definitely dive in! I appreciate engaging narratives that draw me in, whether they’re fiction or non-fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I’ve done is host a sign language class. I genuinely enjoy teaching and sharing my language with others. It was incredible to see people from different backgrounds come together to learn Malaysian Sign Language. Connecting with so many individuals through communication was a rewarding experience, and it reinforced the importance of understanding and embracing diversity. Seeing my students grow in confidence as they learned to express themselves in sign language was truly inspiring!
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe in the power of teaching, learning, and sharing. Teaching is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about connecting with others and fostering understanding. I love sharing Malaysian Sign Language, helping others discover a new way to communicate and appreciate different perspectives.
Learning is a lifelong journey for me. I enjoy picking up new skills, whether it’s coding or exploring new cultures through travel. Every encounter offers an opportunity to learn something new, and I cherish those moments.
Sharing experiences and stories is what brings us together. I’m excited to exchange ideas and insights with fellow travelers, enriching our lives through the connections we make. Whether it’s sharing a meal, a conversation, or a laugh, I believe that every interaction holds the potential for growth and connection.
