Overview
About Me
I’m based in Dubai, working in tech but constantly trying to escape it through travel.
I travel a lot, usually solo, not because I enjoy being alone, but because I like the randomness of meeting people along the way. Some of my best memories didn’t come from places, but from conversations — in hostels, on buses, or over a simple meal.
I’m originally from China, studied Arabic (and forgot half of it, trying to relearn now 😄), and somehow ended up building solutions and partnerships across the Middle East & Central Asia.
I’m a pretty balanced person: calm but curious, structured but open to chaos.
Also part-time storyteller — I run a small travel podcast where I talk about the strange, funny, and sometimes uncomfortable moments on the road.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Not just to find a place to stay, but to understand places through people.
Hotels are comfortable, but they don’t tell stories.
People do.
Interests
Traveling (obviously, but more about people than checklists)
Fitness (trying to stay disciplined while constantly eating local food…)
Podcasting & storytelling
Cultures & languages (currently rebuilding my Arabic)
Walking around cities with no plan
Random deep conversations at night

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: depends on mood — from Chinese indie to Arabic pop to random Spotify discoveries
Movies: Into travel documentaries and anything that makes you sit quietly after watching
Books: More into stories than theories — especially those about people, cultures, and journeys
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent years living and working in Middle East, and went from feeling completely lost… to building a life there, making local friends, and finally seeing the place through my own eyes instead of others’ expectations.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share:
Stories from traveling across different countries (the real ones, not Instagram versions)
Some insights about working in the Middle East
Basic Chinese cooking (or at least edible 😄)
I’d love to learn:
Your perspective on your city / country
Local life beyond tourist spots
Any random skill you’re passionate about
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversations, curiosity, and respect for your space.
I’m easy-going, clean, and independent — I won’t expect you to entertain me, but I’d genuinely enjoy spending time together if you’re up for it.
Also happy to cook something Chinese (no guarantees it’s authentic, but definitely sincere).
