About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to save the world, one meal at a time

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty nice guy. really into gardening, self-sufficiency, and figuring out how to live less harmfully on the earth. I'm also a software developer, but am desperately trying to turn organic farming into a profitable enterprise for myself. I did some urban farming in backyards in Nelson, BC, and it was a moderate success for 3 years. I'm trying again at my new home town of Cobourg, Ontario.

I met a wonderful guy named Laire a few years ago, and we live together. He prepares amazing meals and preserves, does a ton of work in the garden, creates beautiful things like wattle fences and floor mats, and like me really wants to be a homesteader. We're "urban homesteading" for now, trying to grow as much of our own food as possible on our little third of an acre, until we manage to find property to settle on that's a little further out of town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have been a surfer once and a host a few times, and all experiences were awesome. Just like meeting similarly minded people, and CS seems to be a great way to find them! We also like being good hosts to travellers, and in particular, giving people a taste of food as it was meant to be - fresh from the earth, and organically and ethically produced.

And gals, don't take our gender preference too seriously - we'll host anyone that we like!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had an amazing time couchsurfing at a couple's home in Regina, and have hosted surfers several times – all fulfilling and fun experiences.
