About Me

I've studied electrical engineering and finished with my thesis at the end of 2018. Since 2019 I'm a hardware developer for electrical components at a local company. I try to live in a minimalist way and so I don't have high requirements. Living 'Straight Edge' [no alcohol, no drugs, no smoking, no caffeine] is a part of it. In general I'm a calm, pleasent, easy-going person. Most of my time I'm reading and sometimes I loose myself in thinking about to much stuff. As an engineer I tend to talk more about technical or scientific things and not so much about daily stuff but I also won't say 'no' to topics like society and politics. If you prefer other topics - no problem - but please don't expect me to start these conversations. :D
Usually I also try to not judge before I don't know backgrounds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS-Experience was surfing Trondheim for ten days in September '13 and it was a really great time with so many new experiences and people. I had no couch till the moment I left home but it all turned right the first day. In some way I can't imagine staying in ho(s)tels anymore 'cause they seem to be boring now. Meeting new people is great! :)
The second trip in february '14 was even better. Three cities/ countries in 17 days and cool meetings with other Couchsurfers.
The third CS-trip in summer '14 was combined with another trip (with friends) and so it was not that much time I spent surfing. I only spent some days in Helsinki and some more in Copenhagen. In general I have to say that I really enjoyed my CS-time so far.
Since then I unfortunately had no possibility to participate much 'cause I had no place to host people and trips I did were planned by other people. My latest trip in Nov'19 - after a very long break - was nice and reminded me that I wanted to get more involved in CS again.

As I moved in Jan'20 I am now able to host. I'm looking forward to give it a try every now and then!

Interests

Apart from the stuff at work I'm interested in green tech which means renewable energy and electromobility. Other than that I don't want to name anything specific but in general my interests belong a bit more to technical and scientific issues than to social issues. Also if they can be very interesting too.
I also like social criticism 'cause I think the society in this 'system' is way to insane. I'd like to have more people with the willingness to build a new and better society.

Another interest is the dream that's growing inside of me. - We are so small and this globe is so big. Why should we waste our time working and staying at one place? Why not travelling around and see all the places this planet has to offer? So my dream is to cycle the world.
How long? - As long as it's possible.
Why? - 'Cause it's one of the best ways to see many things, don't pollute the environment and going around for free - just with the power you have. To meet many new people on the way just fits perfectly into this dream. Would you like to come with me? :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I don't watch movies on my own but nevertheless I have seen a few with friends. I prefer Documentaries.
Books: I don't read books. It takes to much time and as a book is printed it's in most cases already not up to date anymore. But sometimes I lose myself in Wikipedia or somewhere else. Things like phantasy books are a waste of time and paper in my opinion.
Music: Usually I don't listen to much music as I need silence to stay concentrated when reading. In a car, at other places or when meeting with friends I prefer chartmusic but I'm quite tolerant to many genres although I like electronic music and instrumentals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Good question - I think that depends on the view of every single person.
I was allowed to go to Star City in Russia in 2010, skydived in 2014 and participated in a project to run/ bike around germany in 2014 and 2016.
But maybe this is not amazing for you at all...

Oh, and as it seems to be common when I'm couchsurfing: I spend some nights at train stations and airports during my travels due to very late arrival- or very early departure-times. Not the best sleeping places but manageable in these situations.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have to admit that I can't cook anything for you if you wish so 'cause I don't care much about this topic - sorry. I guess this is related to the fact that 'warm meals' were never anything important while I was raised up. But at least I can help if you wish so.

In general I think that everyone can learn something from others. Maybe you'll get to know different views on different topics or some useful trick for everyday life.
