Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Helsinki, Berlin and Strasbourg and had great experiences with my hosts each time. It gave an understanding of the people and culture and city so much more intimately and uniquely than if I had explored it alone. My experience couchsurfing makes me believe in the kindness of the human spirit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I "escaped" from Alcatraz- I swam the 1.5 mile (2,7km) race between the island and the shore of San Francisco in 58ºF/15ºC water.

I've also driven across the United States twice, west both times.
