About Me

About us:
We adore camping, hiking, dancing, growing and eating vegetables, books, and cooking. Once upon a time before meeting, we were both silent for ten days in meditation. We've lived together in two intentional communities and are actively seeking to live in community again, though with less tie-dye. We're especially interested in knowing about IC spaces hip to racial justice, true inclusivity, welcoming to families, and living in deep relationship with land. If this kinda thing is familiar to you, please say hello!

About Fatima:
I'm an introvert who likes unabashed laughter and singing loudly in public. My favorite things are poems and being outside. I get along well with nomads, activists, artists of all kinds, social scientists at heart, readers, and people aware of what exists outside their own bodies. I've worked in arts and political organizing.

About Elliot:
I'm an extrovert who loves learning languages and different worldviews. I honestly get bored with people who agree too much with me. I love cooking for friends and family, big dinners, and fresh, healthy food. My wife and daughter are THE SHIT. I'd like to live in closer relation with land kinda like what Fatima said.

About Neela:
I'm almost three and my favorite things are bugs, being outside, motorcycles, reading, and singing. And bugs. Oooh, and RABBITS! Why are we still inside? Can I go outside? Do you want to hear me make a goose sound? I will steal your bread and eat it all. Don't test me. Your bread is for me. I'm good at eating bread.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We believe deeply in community and hospitality, and in learning about the world outside ourselves and sharing the blessings we have with others. We want friends everywhere!

(The co-host mentioned in references prior to 2018 no longer shares this profile. He's dead to me like the Kali Uchis song.)

Interests

Books. Cooking and baking. Being outside. Getting our hands in the soil. Justice work and poems. If we can share comfortable silences or deep laughter, we can be great friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

felt all the light of God inside my body

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach how to not measure ingredients when cooking, how to write a poem, and how to spin in circles really fast. Very useful life skills. Can you teach us how to knit or fix a drippy sink?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Have you read/seen Like Water for Chocolate? That kind of meal :-) Genuine conversation, independence, a hand with the dishes, help in the garden, friendship.
