About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Remember to appreciate something new each day.

ABOUT ME

I am a former military medic and current volunteer EMT-2/Firefighter at the Sitka Fire Department. I enjoy volunteering my time and knowledge to help others especially in their most critical time of need. I am the founder of an organization focused on hosting community events, usually based around running, in order to raise money to help support the research and cure of diabetes. I also teach fitness courses at the local gym and the fire dept.
I am currently attending University of Alaska Southeast in hope to obtain a Bachelors degree in paramedicine If I'm not working, schooling, or hanging out at the fire department you can find my pup, Sophie, and I on one of the many trails that Sitka, AK has to offer. I consider myself to be pretty laid back and adaptable. I can find a level of comfort in almost any situation and I usually feel best putting others before myself.
Also, sometimes I forget that I'm not a robot and I'll go days with just a few hours of sleep.

PHILOSOPHY

If you truly want something, you'll find a way; If you don't, you'll find an excuse.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far my CouchSurfing experience has been very positive. I have surfed a couple couches, but my busy lifestyle has not afforded me the opportunity to host yet.

Interests

I love to run. Running is therapeutic for me, it gives me time to think and sort out my day's issues or plans. I try to get in about 40-50mi a week just to keep my head level.
I also enjoy snowboarding, hiking, fishing, playing guitar (Listening to others play, mostly. I need practice), lyrical music, conversations and socializing, cooking, and occasionally getting a bit sloshed.
