About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life exploration

ABOUT ME

Awkward, but well intentioned.
I'm also vegetarian, but not too preachy about it :) I love animals, and hope to one day aid in the rescue and treatment of abused/abandoned ones. I read. A lot. I play the djembe, and am getting better at the didgeridoo every day! I dance, everywhere. And I firespin, although admittedly I once lost a good chunk of hair.
I live in Winnipeg, and it's great, but difficult in certain months. In the summer I like riding bikes, exploring different neighbourhoods, checking out local bands (we have a great music scene), dancing in the park, and drinking beers on patios.
In the winter I play a lot of scrabble. And build snow forts!

PHILOSOPHY

And this our life, exempt from public haunt,
Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in everything
(William Shakespeare)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Over the years I've been lucky to meet and host a slew of great people from all over the world. I thoroughly enjoy showing people around our city, from the touristy stuff to the local scene. And in a few weeks I'll get to experience the flip side, when I surf my way across S.E. Asia!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm consistently blown away by the amazing people I've met through Couchsurfing. Every person has a different story and unusual experiences to share.

Interests

Encounters with unfamiliar territories, persons, objects, philosophies.
Playing instruments, reading books, exploring abandoned buildings, making videos, acting on impulse.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to The Hip when I do dishes, Wu-Tang and Bone Thugs when I drive mini-vans, Hawksley when I'm riding my bike. I like Munro and Rand and Vonnegut and Salinger. But none of them as much as Margaret Atwood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Abseiling through the waterfalls in Dalat, Vietnam; trekking and sleeping in the rainforest of Chi Phat, Cambodia; partaking in the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan, Thailand.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Cambodia, Greece, Italy, Laos, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
