ABOUT ME
I've lived in more countries than I've travelled to – 25 years, 8 countries, 13 cities/towns and counting. So my life is basically some giant Couchsurfing experiment, more or less.
I grew up speaking Burmese/English bilingually. Living in Switzerland and France taught me French. I also speak German fairly well from a 1 year stint in Germany, but using French as my measuring stick it doesn't quite compare (yet!). I've also recently started learning Spanish - so that gives me quite a few options as far as where to LIVE next. Barcelona perhaps!
Surprisingly enough - I'm really into languages. I recently finished my honours in Brisbane and have moved down to Sydney to start a Masters in Linguistics. If you ask me about linguistics research I may be unable to stop talking about it for the rest of the conversation.
Other topics of interest include mathematics and philosophy, both of which I completed degrees in (whoops, indecisive eternal student) – so we can also chitter chatter about Marx and/or the French and German existentialists.
Along with ideas and the inner world, I love the outdoors just as much. I fell in love with the mountains in Switzerland and really try to do as much hiking/cycling/skiing as I can. Though I've found that it's a lot harder to do in Australia without a car and/or time (in the measure of weeks).
I am mostly vegan and always vegetarian, so I don't ever eat any meat. That said, I do really love cooking – especially making things from scratch like grinding the spices (oh the pungent aromas!) to make fresh curry pastes or preparing various pizza doughs for some variety.
Speaking of pizza, I also love photography (interesting segway there!). I have a photo series called 'Pizza Portraits' where I throw a make-your-own-pizza party and we all take portraits with our creations (before eating them!). I've done this in 4 countries so far and am looking forward to doing this in Sydney.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite movie of all time: The Lion King. The different versions have helped me learn French and now German. I also once wrote a semester long research paper about the songs of the Lion King.
