About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to get to know the world
PHILOSOPHY
I love nature, animals (so I guess it comes as no surprise that I am a vegetarian) and try to apply the "simple living - high thinking" philosophy of my father's guru. I buy only what is essential, but I do keep pretty much everything I acquire (what others see as useless junk, I see as potential art). I am also very environmentally conscious (recycling, saving electricity/water, soapnuts, etc). Oh, and I am really messy - I sort of strive on chaos, but I do like a clean bathroom and kitchen.
Despite of all this, I do have a keen interest in the morbid, the darkness of humanity and melancholy (reflected in some of my art and my taste in music). I am interested in crime, would love to study criminology, but can't get myself to do another 2 years of school.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a guy from Brazil (it was short but nice!) while I was in Montpellier, but haven't surfed yet.
Interests
Here's the short version: I am: sporty, nerdy, artsy, obsessed with learning languages and a cheapskate when it comes to spending money on myself.
The long version:
Sports: love tennis (played for 6 years before and during high school), especially doubles; started running again for my new job as a soccer referee (although I am taking a break from it for a few months); was a proud competitive cross-country skier in high school for 4 years and would continue skiing if there was more snow in Hungary; really like to play SOFT-core soccer (sadly, I suck at it, which is why I put an emphasis on soft). Also, after I'm done with my thesis, I will start doing krav maga (women should be able to protect themselves).
Nerdiness: Yes, I'm a bit of a nerd, hence my interest in etymology (and other boring language sciences connected to it); also really interested in the connection between society and language, their influence on one another.
Art: love to do pottery and jewellery (took classes in high school and would love to continue), nowadays I am more into making useful things for the house that also happen to be unique and colorful.
Languages: trying to learn way too many at the same time (Arabic, Greek, Spanish, Russian, etc.), but not getting too far.
Ah, yes, about my stinginess:
I'm still an intern, so I haven't started making money yet. For this reason, I feel bad about spending what is not mine. I'm even starting to make my stinginess a kind of sport. For example: how can I take as much stuff as I can on a Ryanair flight without paying for the extra kg's?
