ABOUT ME

i love textiles, yarn, paint, pencils, photos and cake. I need to see more of the world. I have lived in Brighton since 2006 but am currently looking to make a move to Bristol. I try and find somewhere new at least once a month to eat or drink so I can keep that feeling alive that I'm on holiday, even if just for an hour or two. I like the sea and wide open spaces. Some day i'll have myself an old cottage somewhere full of whimseys and spices where I can bake and knit to my hearts content and make pretty dresses all day long :-)

PHILOSOPHY

I try to stay positive.. Pass the poz, I like to say to people when things are looking bleak. I look on the bright side of life and try not to stress too much about things, and stay honest with people. I try to take each day as it comes and live in the moment, though that is much easier said than done. I have to remind myself sometimes that sometimes we worry a lot about things that are out of our control, and it is far better to stop, breathe, and worry about it when it happens.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this so I haven't done a lot of participation yet! I stayed with some peeps in Zurich last year who were amazing and convinced me I should join. I can't host though as I live with 3 others who aren't keen on the idea. However I'm well up for meeting people, showing them around and going out for drinks.
I feel bad about staying at people's houses for free.. but I'm a keen cook so I can make you a pretty good dinner in return :0)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had much experience of CouchSurfing yet, as I was only introduced to it 6 months ago. I stayed in Zurich with a friend at the home of a great host, we cooked with him and his girlfriend, drank rum and had the most amazing philosophical conversations all night that just felt like we were exactly where we were supposed to be.. I know it was partly the rum, but that's what it's all about :0)

Centres d'intérêt

Anything creative and I'm in there. I like making things, clothes, jewellery, accessories.. I also like painting, though I don't make enough time for it. I have a lovely old dutch bike which I like to ride around on.. and in the summer nothing beats a good dip in the sea.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love the cinema and seeing live bands.. At the cinema I love the more arthouse type films rather than the big blockbusters, my favourite thing is to go on my own, sit in the fromt row and munch my way through a box of popcorn.

My all time favourite band is the Cure, though at the moment I can't get enough of Mumford and Sons. Next week it'll be someone else. Oh and last week I saw a french band called Coming Soon that were awesome, lots of fun and I'd recommend them to anyone that needs cheering up.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I'm not so great on the language front but I can teach anyone to knit! Or to play a few chords on the guitar, bake a cake or take a good photograph.
