About Me

* I'm travelling around Central America for next 3 months *
You can follow me at instagram @faysonmerege

I have a degree in Physical Education, I worked in schools with children between 4 - 10 years. In 2014 I studied photography and then journalism and in 2015 I decided to change my life. I traveled for 6 months in South America on a sabbatical and after that time, today I am a photographer and I work traveling. Photography united two passions: Photographing people and their stories and places with surreal landscapes.

During these years traveling I got to knowt different cultures, do volunteer work and photographers people and landscapes around the world. Today I am a photographer and filmmaker. I like to observe the world through my lens and have another perception of the world. I believe life has much to offer outside our comfort zone. For this reason I like to stay with people in couchsurfing/local people to have a real experience exchange. CS is not a "free hostel" for me, but the best way to make good friend and share history's.

I have been a vegetarian for 2 years and have been trying to learn a little more about veganism. I believe the main pillar is to be aware of how we consume our food and how we maintain our health.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The idea of meeting new people and exchange experiences is an opportunity to make a better world.
Getting to know local people and their culture is important for us to learn something from local experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2015 I made my sabbatical backpack through South America. I traveled 6 months between Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Equador and Colombia.

I traveled all the coast of Uruguay by hitchhiking on foot and with my longboard in the middle of winter. It was difficult and incredible at the same time.

I shot an independent documentary on the way from Paris to Munich. There were 32 days between France, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Being in solitude with yourself is the best way to self-knowledge

I traveled by car for 15 days in Morocco, seeing amazing landscapes and meeting wonderful people. One of the best experiences I've had traveling.

I did the Santiago Way's two times: The French Way in 2017 (800km) and in 2019 Via de La Plata (1007km starting in Sevilla).
