ABOUT ME

I'm Iina, a Finnish woman. I have luckily been raised with a rather open view of life and I'd like to keep thinking that people are good by nature.

Music and art have taken the biggest parts of my heart. I love to listen to music, sing by myself (I'm way too conscious to do it with other people around) and do anything that is somehow related to arts (drawing, painting, embroidery etc.). Right now I'm studying Graphic Design.

Another thing I love is obviously travelling. I like going around by train, car, plane, boat, bike, feet. I like hitch hiking, and it's the thing I favor over the others. I'm not much of a country girl but I don't mind staying a night under the sky.

As a person, I've noticed I'm very versatile. I have things I love and that I have strong opinions about, but I really like to have nice long conversations with people whose ideas differ from mine if we can keep it respectful. I love to learn new things about how our minds work and what causes us to do certain things.

PHILOSOPHY

We shouldn't worry so much because things tend to turn alright and even if they didn't there's always a way out.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love hosting other surfers but right now it's not possible so I just surf instead.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One thing that has really stayed in my mind is when one of my surfers, Miikka, gave me a little show with some kind of weird, glowing, colourful balls (sorry, i just can't remember the name!). I have to admit that my explanation doesn't do much justice to the show itself but I had to try!

Another really great memory is the evening in the backyard of my place with Sten and Marko, just talking and eating and drinking tea. I felt so at home! Gave me a sense of belonging and friendship with two people I hardly even know.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

For me the most amazing thing I've ever done is hitch hiking through Finland mostly because it gave me such a feeling of power over myself. Feels good to know I CAN.
