About Me

"I exist as I am, that is enough,
If no other in the world be aware I sit content,
And if each and all be aware I sit content.
One world is aware, and by the far the largest to me, and that is myself,
And whether I come to my own today or in ten thousand or ten million years,
I can cheerfully take it now, or with equal cheerfulness, I can wait.”
__Walt Whitman, 'Song of Myself'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The thing I love most about Italy is Tuscany, my Tuscany. The world is my "city", but Tuscany is my "hometown" and I want to share it with you as much as I can.
I've studied foreign languages for, I guess, almost my entire life (until now of course...), so I like speaking and meeting people and it's useful for me practicing the languages I know or I'd like studying ( for example Portuguese, Norwegian, Russian).

Interests

I like art. It can't be otherwise: I study at the Florence University and Florence is the city of art, of a part of Italian culture and history.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a eclectic person. Some days I listen a kind of music and some days something else. But definitely I don't like techno or house music. Harcore music? either!

I'm really a bookworm. My little library is full of books and I never stop to buy them, even if there is no more space in my house. I'm a purist, so the more a book is old the more I like it, but I don't have a great passion for criminal romances. I read gladly the historical romances about English or Italian history. My favorite historical romances is "I, Mona Lisa" about the Florence of Leonardo da Vinci, if you haven't read it yet, well... read it! It's amazing!! I love English literature (yes...I'm a potterhead!!) . I've studied German linguistics for many years. It is very fascinating, because in my opinion German words are powerful, meaningful. I am very interested about German language and its history and development.

I love cinema! I really like going to cinema or watching movies at home with friends. My favorite actor is Robin Williams, because the first movie I saw when I was a child was "Hook" with him, Dustin Hoffman and Julia Roberts. I fell in love with him! I'm passionate of telefilms. Very. Now I'm following "Sherlock", "The Big Bang Theory" and "Doctor Who". In some aspects they are better than movies, don't you think? The storyline can be more developed and, if you like it, you can enjoy it and its protagonists longer than a movie. But there are some movies, which can create a so big emotion that exceed a telefilm. Recently I have discovered a passion for black and white films. They can wake up my romantic streak :) although they seem sometimes common or simple. Thanks to them I fall in love with Audrey Hepburn.
