About Me

I like to think about myself as a person who has just entered the world, trying to develop an open-minded approach and lifestyle, in order to enjoy the complexity of the world and of the cultures whose compose it.

"I fanciulli trovano il tutto anche nel niente, gli uomini il niente nel tutto." Giacomo Leopardi

I would describe myself as curious and ambitious. I like meeting new people and listening things from all over the world. I love culture and its manifestation as architecture, cinema, theatre, music, literature.

I have been living in Seville, Spain for the exchange program Erasmus. I'm really attracted from spanish culture and lifestyle. I totally felt in love with the habit of living the street, in order to chat with friends, take a beer, appreciate the city and meet new people.

After I came back to Italy to finish my master degree. I started working in the construction field but was not satisfied of many things.

Meanwhile I met the bamboo plant and started studying it as a strategic sustainable construction material. I definitely felt in love with it. Four months ago I got one-way ticket to Bali, where I'm working now in the bamboo construction sector.
And enjoying so much this journey..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS first of all helps people to know each other and it opens many canals of communications in an easy way based on the formation of a really open community of members able to relate easily and without barriers of personal interest. This means a lot to me, because the fact of simply sharing a chat in front of a tea with a person you wouldn't have met so easily in your daily routine, it's exciting and led to a great personal growth and consciousness.
Moreover, the high-connected and dinamic society CS helps to develop makes me think more positively about our future, and the world without (at least) national barriers that we should grow. This is not effortless, as maybe it isn't to host a foreigner in your house or make you comfortable with the habits of the host, but I think that to put yourself into this and engage in the situations created will be worth! I'm only at the beginning, but I hope to meet a loot of different people in habits, way of thinking, favourite colours and shoes size, in order to comprehend a bit more of this world.

Secondly I think that CS gives the opportunity to live your traveling experience not in a conventional way; it allows you to be hosted by locals and why not to visit the city with them, discovering the most hidden and curious places if they have time to share; or maybe it lets you explaining things about your city and discovering much more of them thanks to the infinite curiosity of the guests. This actually happened to me, and I appreciated it both as citizen of my city and as an architecture student, pointing out the importance of looking at things differently.
I don't like much the "tourist point of view" because I think it's superficial sometimes, and doesn't allow you to comprehend the essence of the culture you're meeting. So CS, sometimes happens to be a really precious source of anectods and situations, making the net between you and your couchsurfer partner and his culture more stronger.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Interrail!!! It made me love traveling and meet new people getting through the idea of belonging to one place.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a sociable guy and a talkative person. To me it's really important the act of host a person in your house or to be hosted, so I'll always do my best to respect the other.
For sure I can be a good teacher of italian, and why not a conversation partner for english and spanish, which I'm trying to learn too. More than that I love to adapt and enjoy the situation around me to get the essence of it. So I prefer to avoid the list of things I try to do, but I can say it begins with acting, singing, being a funny person,...and lasts a lot of activities :D
Just to remember at the end of this brief description that I'm italian: I enjoy cooking, which it's a great aspect of my culture, so why don't begin the cultural exchange with a good dish of pasta??
